Cyber Monday .....Making money for Christmas

Friday, the day after the American holiday Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday, the day when the Christmas shopping season officially starts. Of course, probably like the UK, people have already been shopping for some time. In the local stores here, Christmas goods appear on the shelves as soon as children have gone back to school in September after the summer holiday, and the school uniforms and school stationary such as pencil cases have been taken off the shelves. However, Black Friday, also the beginning of Advent weekend, the build up to Christmas , sees the stores opening  early in the morning ,offering huge discounts and massive queues waiting for the doors to open, plus huge online discounts. It is a massive shopping day, with people tempted by the discounts offered both online and at the stores. At first the shops opened at 6am, but this has been pushed back earlier and earlier and of course, online shopping happens at all hours

And...it is spreading, with the phenomenon coming across the pond to the UK, and stores trying to replicate it here  . Online prices were slashed by as much as 70%.

Also, it is stretched by the retailers as much as it possibly can be, with  today being called Cyber Monday, the first Monday after Thanksgiving, and said to be the biggest online shopping day.

Of course, with the increase in shopping online, the world can indeed be an oyster for a keen shopper with money, and not limited to the local £1 stores , there are millions of Cyber Monday deals, in the UK and worldwide.   One reason for this is thought to be that many people on Friday saw their last payday before Christmas and the retailers are taking advantage of it.  Although, increasingly for many, there has been no payday, and at best if benefits have not been stopped or sanctioned,  the minimum number of cheap presents have to be bought weekly or fortnightly on benefit day.

However, what do you do if you have no money at all ?  Most human beings, no matter where they live, need no encouragement to shop for themselves, family and friends, if they have the money ,the human nature loves to give, but what happens if like millions this year , you wish you could cancel Christmas ?

The season can actually also be a time to take the opportunity to make some money. People want to buy things, and many still have the money to do so. Why not supply the things they want and get people to buy from you ?

However, you are thinking that you cannot afford to buy stock ? No need, become an affiliate, set up a blog or website and start writing, inserting and placing links on your site to the products you are selling. This is really of course a long term project, and won't make you rich before Christmas this year, if done properly and thoroughly, it is indeed possible to make a living from affiliate marketing and there are masses of online resources to assist you in doing so. However, it is a great idea as a new year resolution ....to make a living online !!!!
